Oral Surgery

Within the field of oral surgery, various types of interventions are performed to address different issues concerning the mouth and jaw. These procedures include extractions of impacted teeth and roots, apicoectomies to remove infected roots, dental implant procedures, sinus lifts, bone reconstruction, and other procedures. These procedures can be performed in the dental chair under local anesthesia. Utilizing cutting-edge tools and advanced techniques, the primary aim of modern oral surgery is to reduce pain and discomfort for patients while significantly enhancing dental occlusion functionality.

Implantology Without Bone Augmentation

The “split crest” procedure stands as a reliable and cutting-edge method, allowing for a significant horizontal expansion (approximately 5 mm) of the bone crest. This enables the immediate placement of dental implants, reducing the need for multiple surgical procedures and shortening the overall treatment time for implant-prosthetic procedures. This innovative technique surpasses anatomical limitations associated with severe bone atrophy, enabling direct implant anchorage to the remaining bone through a sagittal osteotomy. The crestal expansion during osteotomy contributes to increasing the thickness of the edentulous crest, leading to an exceptionally satisfying implant-prosthetic rehabilitation with a high success rate.

Bone Augmentation

In the field of oral surgery, bone augmentation aims to restore lost bone volume following tooth loss or extraction. In some cases, patients may have insufficient bone to ensure an ideal placement of dental implants. Through a specific procedure, the crestal volume is increased, and the missing bone is reconstructed, creating optimal conditions for the subsequent placement of implants. The use of biomaterials that mimic human tissue ensures high effectiveness without causing inflammation, facilitating the bone regeneration process. During this phase, the application of a protective membrane not only shields the affected area but also promotes optimal healing.

Maxillary Sinus Lift

The technique of maxillary sinus lift, also known as sinus lift, is an effective procedure to address the reduction of the maxillary sinus and the consequent loss of bone volume after tooth extraction, in order to facilitate the proper placement of dental implants. In situations where there is insufficient bone for implantation, especially after prolonged tooth loss, the elevation of the maxillary sinus membrane and the use of bone grafts are employed to increase bone volume, ensuring a solid foundation for the implants. This procedure, performed under local anesthesia, is minimally invasive and concludes with the strategic placement of implants, contributing to the restoration of functionality and aesthetics of the upper jaw.
